each character deck required at least 20 full color illustrations of the character performing various actions. a few decks required up to 30 cards, and/or a supplemental deck.
the final printed art was quite small — around 2 inches wide — so the characters' facial expressions and body language needed to be readable at that size.
i designed EVE, KAYLIN, WULFRIC, WIZGILLE, TARA, BRYN, and CAPTAIN WHITEHAWK with cliff bohm. SERA and AMUNDYR's living form were designed with jeff morrow. AMUNDYR's mummy form and THE WENCH were designed by other artists.
